The Rise of the Sun, the Fall of Time brings together a new body of work by Danae Patsalou reflecting on time, memory, and renewal through the parallel imagery of sunrise and archaeology. Through paintings and drawings, the exhibition explores moments of revelation, when what was once hidden gradually comes into view. In the early hours, the rising sun transforms the landscape, briefly illuminating forms concealed in darkness.

Alongside these observations, Patsalou turns to archaeology, where buried fragments reappear much like memories resurfacing. Their rediscovery suggests that time is layered rather than linear. The exhibition includes small-scale paintings inspired by the Ara Pacis in Rome and works capturing the stillness of sunrise. Together, they connect the rediscovery of the past with the daily renewal of light, framing both excavation and dawn as acts of revelation.
