Danae Patsalou (b. 1999) is an emerging Cypriot visual artist based in Nicosia, Cyprus. She holds a BA in Fine Arts from Falmouth University (Falmouth School of Art) and an MA in Arts and Cultural Management from King’s College London.

Patsalou’s practice engages with themes of culture, heritage, and landscape, primarily expressed through drawing and painting. Her work functions as a space for storytelling, inviting viewers to reconsider their surroundings and encounter familiar environments through nuanced and alternative perspectives.
​
Marked by sensitivity and quiet intimacy, her paintings exist at the threshold between abstraction and representation. Through landscape, Patsalou examines the evolving relationship between self and place, exploring how memory, cultural inheritance, and lived experience shape one’s connection to the environment. Her work also reflects on the bi-communal reality of Cypriot society, drawing attention to subtle histories and shared presences embedded within everyday life.

Patsalou has presented her work in group exhibitions and performances across Cyprus, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
